Corné Botha is a well regarded Construction Professional in the GCC. He started his career in 2003 in his native South Africa and has been working in the UAE since 2006. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying, as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Professional Member of the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors and also Registered Member of the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession.
Corné joined BLAIR ▪ ANDERSON Dubai office in 2006 and rapidly rose through the ranks from Senior Quantity Surveyor to Director focusing on BLAIR ▪ ANDERSON Cost Management services (a position he has held for many years). He brings to BA a high level of experience in Pre and Post Contract Cost Management Services across a wide range of Projects and Procurement types. He has successfully managed large teams on complex projects with challenging deadlines.
Corné remains actively involved in project delivery and has managed portfolios including Exhibition Centres, Conference and Theater Projects, Mixed Use Developments, Museums, Hotels, Residential, Retail, Commercial and Retail Fit-outs.
Corné is also committed to his own and others’ professional and career development by means of mentoring candidates as well as being a qualified Chairman and Assessor of the ‘Assessment of Professional Competence’ (APC) process which forms part of the pathway to membership to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Faisal Ismail is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has extensive experience in the construction industry. He joined BLAIR ▪ ANDERSON in 2005 and specialises in dispute resolution services with experience under many of the leading institutional arbitration rules. Faisal was involved in a wide range of construction related disputes and arbitration cases as advocate, arbitrator, expert witness, and as litigation support specialist which involved providing support with preparation of statement of claims, defence documents and counterclaims, witness statements, Expert Witnesses support, and various other arbitration standard submissions and correspondence.
Faisal is also experienced in the preparation of contractual claims including drafting of statement of entitlement, review of contractual obligations, analytical review of programmes and establishment of cause & effect to prove delay & disruption; and preparation of cost / quantum claims in relation to disruption, prolongation and acceleration.
